My husband Stephen is turning 50 on the 31st of March and I would like a colourful, funky portrait that celebrates our family. A perfect birthday present to celebrate the occasion! A little more about our family: Stephen – is a Life Coach, he is a keen mountain biker and has finished the Epic. He loves open water swimming in the sea, walking in the mountain and Kirstenbosch, but his favourite place is probably our fynbos garden in Bettys Bay – he is at his most content pottering around. A childhood favourite book is Where the Wild Things Are from Maurice Sendak and he has this tattooed on his arm (maybe one of the wild things could feature in the picture somewhere). He is at his happiest with his family around him. Oliver (15), at 1.8m is taller than all of us, he loves funky shirts, he is a keen gamer and has started making music on his laptop and keyboard. He is also a keen baker and can often be found in the kitchen whipping up cinnamon buns or a milktart. Emily (8) is curious, sharp, funny and has a wonderful smile. She is a BIG Harry Potter fan (she is a Gryffindor of course!), loves Judo (she has achieved her green belt), loves performing, but her favourite thing by far is swimming – in the sea, in a pool in a lake – it doesn’t matter as long as she can swim. Maths is her absolute favourite subject in school. Peet – I love travelling and have dragged the family off to Greece and Mauritius and if all goes well, we’re going to Spain this year. A good book is one of my favourite things, a gin and tonic or a glass of sparkly will always lift my spirits and I feel at my best in a pair of jeans and t-shirt. Winston the Cat – has been with us for 16 years and its hard to imagine our family without him. He loves his humans and will often come and get a scratch or a cuddle (particularly from Emily). He was named after Sir Winston Churchill. I love your bright, happy colours – and if we could feature the gorgeous fynbos that Stephen loves in the background it would be great but otherwise, please use your artistic licence. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
